Maybe mine will be on the mat when I get home?

just wanted to run an informal poll to see how "effective" or hopelessly "ineffective" the borg tract assimilation drive has been.. i for one, have not received the tract, and i live in densely populated development.
did anybody get it left in their doors/mailboxes?.
Maybe mine will be on the mat when I get home?

since most of us here on this forum are ex jw or soon to be, most have an experience of hurt or anger at being shunned or lied to myself included.
how do you deal with it?
are you over it or do you feel your life has changed for the better or worse because of your experiences with the wts?
I try to take a day at a time really - this week i dont feel i'm doing so good with it. Making friends helps. Of course i'm glad I know the truth and could never go back, but I dont seem to fit in anywhere right now.

i had been friendly to a woman i met recently and wanted to take things further, but found out she was with someone when i asked if she wanted my number.
i bumped into her again two weeks later and she then asked for my number, so i asked her again was she with someone, she said yes but she could still text me.
my gut reaction through mistakes i have made in the past was to not get involved.

I said to her if she had been single I would have had no hesitation to give it to her but due to the circumstances I cant. I left knowing it was the right choice but totally gutted. Life lessons sure are hard.

Mmm. I think I need some "encouragement" to keep plowing through the first one (CoC). I find his style of writing to be sort of poor... (sorry guys!)
On the other hand I found the actual content to be extremely illuminating. It is just pretty painful to read. Sometimes his sentence structure borders on "difficult to understand"...
I have to agree I also struggled with the writing, but it is worth the effort for the information contained.

hey everybody, i had an interesting time pushing a tract that i don't believe in this weekend.
i had to develop my own method of placing it without having to talk about it, since i fear if i was confronted by someone asking "do you people think you're the only true religion", i might break down and tell the person at the door "no, i don't".
the witness at the door with me would scream in terror, and i would be insta-dfed.
I was wondering about having to go in the service - the brothers used to say its all about being seen. In other words as long as your at the meeting for field service you can then go and do what you like. Ok not always, but there are usually those who want an easy life and are happy to cruise around in the car or stop for coffee etc. Also I think it would be interesting to bring out some of the real meaning of the scriptures - again would need a like minded person to work with. Then there was a Min servent that would announce he was going on calls and was meeting someone, or couldn't take someone for one reason or another, and basically stayed out for a while and went home when he deemed it a long enough time. So maybe you can see the ministry as a challenge to get out of without being found out

"let each one of you individually so love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.
1) suppose you received a gift-wrapped package with a label that read: "handle with care.
handle with care.
Thanks again Blondie.
One of the things i've noticed here is that a lot of people's experiences are that the men had no respect for their wives, I have to say it was completely different for me and my now ex wife. I wasnt able to voice myself to her as she would walk away from me. If she had something to say she would be very verbal to me. I guess for an easy life I let her do things her way, unfortunately this stopped me from voicing my needs and concerns, ultimately the love ceased. Obviously no one person is to blame, I made my fair share of errors too. The elders came to see us on a number of occasions to 'help', its quite ridiculous to imagine they had any qualifications to do so and yet there they were.

since i have been out, i am still amazed when i find someone who is no longer a jw.
the funny thing is, i am always amazed at how many people it is just a casual fact about their past that they don't think anything of.
the more and more i think about it, the more i realize that most people were just able to blow it off, and then there are a few of us who it actually left deep marks on us.
Welcome libidinousfaerie (long name to remember lol),
I really enjoyed reading your story - and can relate to many things you've said. Its good that you've made a new life for yourself, and while you can reflect back on the good and bad times you seem to have a balanced view of all that happened to you. Your right that for some being a witness is a good thing for them, for others its not, shame there isn't really a choice to leave without some repercussions with family who are in. Obviously you are still thinking about it and being affected by it, so I hope you find this place somewhere to chat about it.

since the new tract tells us "the end of false religion is near!
", jehovah's witnesses maintain that they alone are the only true religion.
how would you dispute that??
False religion:
Meddles in war and politics- the Watchtower kills its brothers by its blood policy, and takes governments to court, joined UN
Spreads false doctrine - the Watchtower teaches two classes of christian, 607 to 1914, Paradise earth
Tolerates immoral sex - the Watchtower keeps records of accused child abusers, but for the sake of keeping the org looking clean, withholds from authorities

dear everyone,.
there was a very interesting item on this morning's bbc breakfast news programme - to do with blood transfusions for dogs.
a new website has been set up, along with an appeal to owners to type and register their pets as potential donors, should the need arise.
What a hilarious thread! Unfortunately it also shows the wacky reasoning the WTS has, which could result in a senario of someone dying. To me thats no different to their new tract saying we dont go to war (no we just kill them from within!)

P.S. I saw it on the bbc news also - was just having a break from another wacky person - Fiona Philips GMTV
